Frequently Asked Questions
Q. During Installation ‘A Locked File Detected’ Pops Up. What to do?
A. Click the Ignore button and continue the installation
Q. I’m Having Problems With My Wireless Connection. What to do?
A. - Try changing the channel on your wireless router and/or access point.
    - Do not put the router or access point in an enclosure. Things like brick, metal, steel, lead, mirrors, water, glass and large appliances will degrade the wireless signal significantly.
    - Try moving the router closer. Even small changes (2 to 4 feet) can make a great difference.
    - Bluetooth devices as well as 2.4GHz phones can interfere with your wireless network. Try changing location of phone, access point, or wireless router.
Q. The New Hardware Wizard Finds Multiple Drives to Choose From. Which one do I choose?
A. You can choose any of the drivers and click NEXT to continue.
Q. How do I tell if my adapter is installed properly in Windows XP?
A. 1. Right click My Computer.
2. Select Manage
3. Click the Device Manager, under the System Tools section, in the left panel.
4. In the right panel, expand the Network Adapters section. Your adapter should show up by name. If there is a problem with installation, the device will display as an Ethernet Controller, Network Controller, Unknown device, or will not be listed at all. If the adapter is not installed properly, continue to Step 5.
5. From the Network Adapters section, right click on the adapter and select Uninstall.
6. Reinstall the driver. (You can find the latest driver here)
7. After the installation completes, repeat to Step 1 through Step 4 again, to ensure that the driver has installed properly.
Q. Why does the New Hardware Wizard appears after Installation is already done?
A. This can happen if the USB device is connected to a different port than the one used during installation. Return device to the original USB port.
Q. Why can’t I connect to the router when my adapter’s plugged into a USB 1.0 or 1.1 port?
A. Update your driver or utility to version 2.0 or later and set your router to “802.11g mode” ONLY in order to connect to the router properly.
Q. When I connect the device to the USB port of my Vista PC, why do I get a message saying “Unknown Device Driver installed”?
A. Please update your Vista OS via Microsoft Window’s Update. For more details, please see: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925528
